The Golden Thread: How Fabric Changed History
With a cast that includes Chinese empresses, Richard the Lionheart and Bing Crosby, Kassia St Clair takes us on the run with escaped slaves, climbing the slopes of Everest and moonwalking with astronauts.
Our April read is Kassia St. Clair’s The Golden Thread – a fascinating journey through time exploring how fabrics have shaped the world we live in.
We’re particularly excited about this as Kassia has kindly agreed to join us, sharing the inspiration behind the book, and to discuss her writing process in more depth. We’ve also timed the meet up to coincide with Fashion Revolution; a week in which we remember the factory collapse of Rana Plaza, and call on customers to demand greater transparency in the fashion industry by asking brands #whomademyclothes.
