We're thrilled to be teaming up with our good friend and plant-based masterchef Alice MacKinnon to teach us the health & wellbeing benefits of Kombucha and sharing everything you need to know to make it successfully at home.
- Thursday 25th July
- 6.30pm onwards
- Unit 77-78 Brixton Village, SW9 8PS
The workshop will include:
- An introduction to kombucha & the equipment required
- Primary and secondary fermentation techniques, how to achieve good carbonation, flavour development and storage
- How to propagate your own SCOBY, including your own take-away starter kit to make your own
Alice MacKinnon is a plant based chef, cookery teacher and product consultant living in London. A real fermentation enthusiast, she has recently moved back from Los Angeles where she taught at the Matthew Kenney Culinary School.
Kombucha is a fermented drink that contains beneficial nutrients, enzymes and acids that improve digestion, increase energy and balance blood sugar levels. In its purest form, it is a blend of tea, water, sugar and a SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast).
This is the ideal class for anyone who is new to kombuchabrewing, or wishes to enhance their current home-brew in new and magical ways. All guests will also receive a 20% off voucher from The Keep Boutique.
(Please note, the workshop will be taking place at Federation Coffee, which is just the around the corner from our shop.)
