Kombucha Workshop

Kombucha tea, the brew is ready to be placed in storage with the bacteria culture in place to ferment the brew.

We’re thrilled to be teaming up with our good friend and plant-based masterchef Alice MacKinnon to teach us the health & wellbeing benefits of Kombucha and sharing everything you need to know to make it successfully at home.

The workshop will include:

– An introduction to kombucha & the equipment required

– Primary and secondary fermentation techniques, how to achieve good carbonation, flavour development and storage

– How to propagate your own SCOBY, including your own take-away starter kit to make your own

Alice MacKinnon is a plant based chef, cookery teacher and product consultant living in London. A real fermentation enthusiast, she has recently moved back from Los Angeles where she taught at the Matthew Kenney Culinary School.

Kombucha is a fermented drink that contains beneficial nutrients, enzymes and acids that improve digestion, increase energy and balance blood sugar levels. In its purest form, it is a blend of tea, water, sugar and a SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast).

This is the perfect class for anyone who is new to kombuchabrewing, or wishes to enhance their current home-brew in new and magical ways. All guests will also receive a 20% off voucher from The Keep Boutique.
